Video Based Stroke Education Series
Each year Broad Reach Healthcare at Liberty Commons is happy to host a group of LPN Students for six weeks from Upper Cape Cod Technical School where they complete their clinical practicum. As part of their education they work directly on the floor with residents, alongside our seasoned CNAs and Nurses. This year’s class worked on their Capstone project in a way in which they could give something back to Broad Reach and to our residents, completing a Stroke Education DVD. A set of four videos explaining the warning signs and symptoms and how to respond to a stroke (FAST), high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and use of anticoagulants provides a wonderful overview about ways in which strokes occur, risks can be reduced, how to respond and recover from stroke.
