Come to the Dinner for LTC Residents’ Families on September 12th!
Cocktails & hors d’oeuvres at 4:30 · Dinner at 5:00
We hope summer extends enough for us to be able to have an enjoyable time in the center courtyard for another family dinner.
Months have flown by quickly, and it’s certainly been among the busier times in our 30 year history. Common spaces transformations on Stage Harbor and Oyster Pond have been underway — they’re probably the most visible, but also just the tip of the iceberg!
A special event, also celebrating this “refreshing” that’s been done, will be the grand opening of a new shower/spa on the North wing of Oyster Pond. It was just a few weeks ago that Sheron Cope, CNA, guided Jon and Sherry in optimal placement of the fixtures in the roughed shell of the space. So come and see us take bathing to new heights, enjoy a glass of wine and dinner, and what’s always some memorable company.

Our family dinners started a dozen years ago, in something of a grass-roots way. The idea was to help make sure that the hustle and bustle of all that’s going on every day wasn’t the only opportunity people had to interact, recognizing that much could be gained from gathering outside the contexts of care plan meetings or passing visits and chance encounters.
Residents don’t attend these dinners with their family members, and that’s been by design too. It’s helped make sure that there was time carved out to help lessen the challenges that can remain in being a family caregiver, and gives us a chance to bounce new ideas and updates off each other in a more social context than is typically possible.
