The rankings in the Top Places to Work are based on confidential survey information collected from 357 Massachusetts organizations by Workplace Dynamics, an independent firm specializing in employee engagement and retention analysis. The winners share a few key traits, including offering progressive benefits, giving their employees a voice, and encouraging them to have some fun while they’re at it. Top Places to Work recognizes the most admired workplaces in the state voted on by the people who know them the best—the employees.
Broad Reach Healthcare is a local healthcare provider in Chatham offering rehabilitation services and skilled nursing care at Liberty Commons, assisted living services at The Victorian, hospice and palliative care through Broad Reach Hospice, and outpatient rehabilitation services at Broad Reach Outpatient Rehabilitation Clinic. “When an organization like ours takes care of its employees, it is also taking care of the people it serves,” said Bill Bogdanovich, CEO & President of Broad Reach. “We are fortunate to be on Cape Cod where our patients and residents can have a better healthcare experience even as they are facing challenges to their health, and our employees are the reason why our residents and patients do well here.” Mr. Bogdanovich identified that the organization pays deliberate attention to its employees through team activities, no-cost paid employee summer and holiday parties, complimentary turkeys for Thanksgiving, Paid Parental Leave, regular celebration of length of service, and regular recognition of hard work with gift cards and thank you letters. ”We want to make it hard for employees to ever feel that their hard work is going unnoticed.”
“The success of a company is not only measured by its economic performance, but also by the loyalty and satisfaction of its employees,” said Katie Johnston, Boston Globe workplace reporter and Top Places to Work report editor. “The winning companies have developed innovative ways to engage and motivate their workers, which often serves as a key factor in innovation and leads to better professional performance.”
